Eos Energy Marks Five Years as a Public Company

A milestone built on grit, progress, and American manufacturing.

Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: EOSE) an American energy company and leading provider of zinc-based battery energy storage solutions, is celebrating five years as a publicly traded company.

While Eos’ history and technology development extend well beyond the last five years, this milestone marks a pivotal moment in our evolution—one defined by resilience, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of progress. From expanding domestic manufacturing to delivering long-duration solutions that strengthen the grid, Eos has spent the last five years proving what American-made energy storage can achieve.

“Five years ago, Eos stepped onto the public stage. Since then, we’ve proven what we’re made of,” said Joe Mastrangelo, Chief Executive Officer of Eos. “This milestone celebrates the strength of our team, the confidence of our partners, and the progress we’ve made in building American-made energy storage solutions at scale. And we’re just getting started.”

Five Years of Progress

  • 2021–2022: Delivered our first large-scale systems and validated real-world performance.
  • 2023: Launched Z3™, setting a new standard for safe, long-duration storage.

As the Company looks ahead and energy demands evolve, Eos remains focused on scaling American manufacturing, strengthening the grid and delivering safe, flexible solutions.

Better Never Stops—and neither do we.

Eos Energy Enterprises and Invinity Energy Systems were selected to provide battery systems to a 60 MWh solar-plus-storage microgrid developed by Indian Energy, a Native American-owned company comprised of Viejas Tribe of Kumeyaay Indians from Southern California.

The facility, which is to planned provide back-up power to the Viejas Casino and Resort, is located on the lands of the Viejas Band.  The energy storage contract is valued at $13.5 million, while the solar component to the microgrid is worth $15 million. Upon completion, the microgrid will be the first such facility owned by a tribal association.

Our Region’s Business – Eos Energy Enterprises, Inc.

Eos Energy Enterprises CEO Joe Mastrangelo appeared on WPXI  Channel 11’s Our Region’s Business to discuss The Global Energy Action Forum and what clean energy progress means for Eos and for workforce development in the Mon Valley region.

Forecasting our Future: Pittsburgh hosts Global Clean Energy Action Forum

Led by U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, the event began Wednesday evening with opening ceremonies at the Heinz History Center in the Strip District.

Energy ministers from 31 countries were traveling to Pittsburgh for the environmental summit at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center downtown. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and John Kerry, the U.S. special presidential envoy for climate, were also among the expected attendees.

For international companies, forum will highlight Pittsburgh innovation

Clean energy will be in the focus of discussions for this week’s Global Clean Energy Action Forum, but organizers hope that it’s also a good opportunity for Pittsburgh companies to shine among an international audience that wouldn’t normally get up close and personal with southwestern Pennsylvania.

There are dozens of events and demonstrations beyond the forum’s meetings and plenary sessions that begin Wednesday afternoon and stretch through Friday afternoon.

Green energy is bracing for growth.

The climate law signed by President Joe Biden in August is poised to drive a surge of investment in renewable energy as it extends and expands tax credits that have proven crucial to establishing clean energy on the grid.

Solar, wind, hydropower and energy storage industries are major beneficiaries of the Inflation Reduction Act, which analysts expect will cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030 from 2005 levels.

Advocates for an array of renewable energy industries in Pennsylvania agree that a key benefit of the climate law is the certainty it provides to project developers by broadening clean energy tax credits, increasing their maximum rates and extending them for a decade or more.

Greetings from Eos Ingenuity Park

That transition was difficult. Rick Buchman, one our military veterans in Turtle Creek, started at Eos when we were still teaching ourselves how to build a battery. Rick’s motto is “follow the data,” and he uses that to become a pied piper, often telling me, “We need to engage the entire workforce because our best improvements come from ideas on the factory floor.”

Our ninth and 10th welders were recently installed in the new building and it took the team less than two weeks to produce quality batteries from these assets. More importantly, Robert Giles, our most experienced operator, has been front and center for integrating these machines into production and now running both simultaneously. When I went over to see the first battery, Robert told me, “The new facility is going to be great, and these new machines are fast. Can’t wait to get all the equipment in here and start full production.”
